Eye diseases are structural disorders that may lead to limitations and various visual problems due to environmental or genetic factors. They include any condition affecting the eyelids, conjunctiva, tear ducts, lens or nerve tissue.
At Özel Letoon Hospital, the Ophthalmology Department serves in two main areas: medical and surgical. On average, our hospital performs about 850 outpatient examinations and nearly 100 surgical procedures per month. Outpatient laser treatments are also carried out. Our ophthalmology outpatient clinic provides the following services using these devices:

Surgical procedures at Özel Letoon Hospital are performed in a modern operating theatre. The equipment used in surgical procedures includes:

The following procedures are performed successfully:
- Cataract surgery.
- Pediatric cataract surgery and anterior vitrectomy
- Glasses-free vision through lens replacement. Diffractive or EDOF technology lenses are implanted in the eye to provide glasses-free vision at far, intermediate and near distances. Corrects astigmatism, myopia and hyperopia.
- Treatment of surface eye conditions (such as pterygium)
- Glaucoma surgery: minimally invasive trabeculotomy and/or trabeculectomy, tube (seton) surgery, viscocanalostomy, deep sclerectomy, etc.
- Pediatric strabismus, muscle surgery, treatment of adult paralytic and cosmetic strabismus
- Vitreoretinal surgery for retinal detachment, intravitreal hemorrhage and pathologies; surgical correction of diabetic retinal and vitreous pathologies; surgical macular repair; intravitreal drug injections for age-related macular degeneration; treatment of trauma-related retinal/vitreous diseases.
- Aesthetic and reconstructive oculoplastic procedures: blepharoplasty, ptosis surgery, brow and forehead lifting, botox applications, excision and reconstruction of tumors around the eyelid.
- Other minor ophthalmic surgeries are also performed. Our hospital performs about 100 eye surgeries per month — about 50 cataract surgeries, 20 premium lens replacements, 10 vitreoretinal surgeries, and the rest oculoplastic and other procedures.
