Radiology is a medical specialty in which internal body imaging is performed for the purpose of diagnosing diseases. Using radiant energy, it allows for the visualization of details deep within the body that cannot be seen with the naked eye, for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. The main applications of this specialty — which produces and interprets images of vessels, soft tissues and bones — are X-ray, Ultrasonography (US), Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
